As Business Relations Manager for the University of Gloucestershire I established the universityѢusiness gateway࡮d generated two million pounds in income from fees and funding sources. I introduced the UK঩rst university-wide CRM system, with full e-marketing capability, and managed complex projects such as the Gloucestershire Year of Innovation (?. The latter included a programme which used live jazz performance to stimulate innovation in business.









As an education/business consultant I specialise in ledge transferਥlping businesses and organisations to make use of rolex replica the research, knowledge and skills in the UK൮iversities. I have also developed and marketed short courses, and promoted programmes for employees with few qualifications. I write and edit websites, promotional copy and bids for funding, and I am Editor of Brookes Connect, a university e-newsletter for business.

As Company Services Manager at Oxford College of Further Education, I managed a team of 40 staff providing management and IT training to businesses, and increased fee income by 83%, and contract income by 21%, over two years. I also led development of the Oxfordshire Virtual Campus, a collaborative industry / education e-learning initiative, and commissioned and edited materials for e-learning programmes in biotechnology and retail.

Working on Employee Development Programmes with the former Heart of England TEC, I established an innovative lifelong learning initiative which worked with employers to encourage new adult learners into education, and which succeeded in influencing UK government policies.

As founder and Manager of the Oxford Centre for Adult Learning in the 1980s, I was an Წy adopter裂open, distance and computer-based learning, and created a novel learning system which subsequently continued in operation for more than 20 years.

I have a good working knowledge of French and Modern Greek, and some knowledge of German and Italian.

In the 1970s I spent time in Ethiopia as a social anthropologist. I am part-owner and manager of rolex replica a property in Greece. In other guises I have travelled in China, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Egypt, Kenya, India, Poland, Russia, Uganda, Ukraine, and the USA.

I have two children in their twenties, both now engaged in postgraduate professional education at universities.


As Manager of the Cowley Training Centre, I created a successful IT training centre from scratch, starting with an empty warehouse. To do this it was necessary to manage a complex partnership of public and private sector sponsors, including government regeneration initiatives. The project came to an end more than five years ago, but the staff still meet for an annual Christmas dinner!
